MY Noise Festival 2013 takes influence from the creation of experimental music scenes during the last few decades in an attempt to boost experimentation and collaboration in the Medway area. Such music scenes have includes Krautrock, No-Wave and NY Noise. This will be done by encouraging the formation of new bands which will experiment with sonics in some way. The festival is not about ‘loudness’ or ‘strange sounds’ but about ‘sonics‘ and ‘experimentation‘ (although loudness and strange sounds can obviously still be achieved). No event will be a finished work.

MY Noise Festival is:

An experiment;

A continual process of sound making;

Kinetic, organic and collaborative;

Open to anyone (musicians and non-musicians);

Based in Medway with a view to making more spaces available to create music (with or without an audience);

Run with sustainability in mind by a not for profit organisation.

Band Dating Showcase

In late January, we launched Band Dating for sonic revolutionists - a project that encourages musicians to fuse together to make sound based alchemy (or bands). People applied by filling in a questionnaire and we put them in a room together with no rules other than to make some kind of sound. These experiments have taken place at the Music Project Space which we have set up at Sun Pier House. This event will showcase those experiments. They are all unfinished and some may be improv. We may turn it into a band date in itself too.

Free entry.
